Useage

Below is a description of how NCSS Conference logos should be displayed and printed.

Copy (web) or download (eps) logos. Please note the small logos at the right are web thumbnails. They can be copied to your desktop and used in web applications at this same size. Double-clicking on the thumbnail will download a full size EPS file. Or click here to download all logos in one Adobe Illustrator file.

EPS (encapsulated postscript) files are print-ready and scaleable. No other file type is necessary for a graphic professional, because an EPS can be converted into any other graphic file type. If you do not have graphic software on your computer, you will not be able to open these files. You may insert them as artwork in other software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word).

EPS files should be used for print advertising, signage, silk-screened items such as t-shirts and book-bags.

The print logos are available in three colors versions: Black and White, Black plus PMS 300 blue (Pantone Matching System), and 4-color (CYMK). Every effort should be made to keep PMS 300 as the spot color used in any two-color printing. The web logos are surrounded by a small white border. This border can be removed or made transparent by your web designer. The border is not considered part of the design.

As a convenience the logos come in two standard sizes. The print logos designated as “small” should be used where they will occupy less than an inch square in area. The small logos were designed to be readable at smaller sizes. The regular sized logos use a script (italic) font that may be impossible to read at smaller sizes.

Juxtaposing this logo design may prove tricky for some. The design is complex (for a logo) and therefore needs more negative space around it to hold its place in a hierarchy. It may be wise to use the b/w logo or 2-color logo even where 4-color printing is available. This would tend to correct for the complexity. In an advertisment or flyer with more than one logo, the NCSS Conference logo should not appear smaller than any other logo on the same page.
